Slipknot Interview : The Reason Behind The Masks
It’s a common misconception that Slipknot wear masks because they think it’s cool. That’s definitely not the case, so I decided to upload this clip of one of my many rare Slipknot DVD’s. This is Corey in 2000 explaining the reasons behind Slipknot’s bizzare image and hopefully people who make fun of Slipknot for their image can now see where they’re coming from. They’re sick of guys with cool hair and tight pants being money making businesses controlled by record labels to gain more fans, which means more profits, because they think they’re ‘hot’. Slipknot believe that the music should be first and foremost, so they have designed these ugly yet beautiful costumes to completely separate themselves from anything which could sell more records other than the music. In August 2008, Slipknot became No.1 in the USA. Vote For Your Favorite Slipknot Mask
In this vid, only vote for the member’s line of masks you like the most, NOT INDIVIDUAL MASKS! Vote by leaving a comment in with a member’s name in it to vote for them. Voting will end at the end of FEBRUARY 28TH!!! Then I will make a vid with just the winning member’s masks in it. You can then vote for your favorite mask. (Sorry there is no audio, I apparently infringed on someone’s copyrightness.) Photos courtesy of: www.opiumofthepeople.net (awesome Slipknot site btw)
